A Vision for Success
Melisse Mossy is a USC graduate and former managing director of a multimillion-dollar company serving kids of all socioeconomic backgrounds. She is also a California credentialed teacher, substitute teacher, certified Equine Facilitated Learning Instructor, and mom who is committed to ensuring ALL students are given equal access to an engaging, high-quality, and innovative education. Mossy’s goal is to advocate that every classroom be a safe, inspiring, and state–of–the–art, where students learn, grow, and infinitely achieve. While she served as a board member, Mossy stood for transparent leadership with accountability, data-driven positive outcomes, and fiscal responsibility. Through teamwork, respectfully listening to all parties and all facts, hard work, and ingenuity, she knows "It Can Be Done".
As an educator, Melisse understands it is critical to ensure students will be able to join a modern workforce and be prepared for a seamless transition to their respective universities or employment after high school. She aims for children to thrive not only in school but as adults throughout their lives. Melisse is willing to stand up for every child no matter how challenging the situation.
As an educator, she understands firsthand the challenges that teachers face. Mossy believes all staff deserve the support they need to create optimum, safe, and innovative learning experiences and campuses.
As a parent of an SDUHSD, UC Berkeley, and Belmont Law alumni, Mossy is extremely committed to education. She shares concerns about school safety, class size, quality of instruction, and advocates for meaningful learning.
